Dear Valued Customer;
Since
our commercial launch on February
14, 2003 we have worked hard to
build Ash Creek Wireless
into what I had envisioned as an
affordable and reliable
high-speed method of accessing
the Internet. For many of us in
rural Polk and Marion Counties,
wireless Internet was our only
broadband option. In the
nineteen months since launch
we have added nearly three-hundred
customers to the system. I would
conclude that the plan was sound.
In
September of last year I entered
into preliminary discussions with a
local businessman who owned
StayWireless in Stayton,
Oregon. As our discussions
continued through the winter a
definite synergy began to develop.
We agreed to merge our two networks
and to provide our customer base
with some new
enhanced services.
On
June 30, 2004 our plan became a
reality. Both Ash Creek
Wireless and
StayWireless were acquired
by Corridor Communications
Corporation (“Corridor”)
a publicly traded company (CORR.OB).
When the transition is complete all
Internet services will be provided
by Eagle West Broadband,
a member of
the Corridor family,
and will be marketed under the brand
name speedpal.com. Both the
Corridor and
Eagle West Broadband
corporate offices will be located in
the Salem area.
What will this merger mean to you as an Ash Creek Wireless or StayWireless customer?
BILLING
·
The
first thing you will notice is that
your billing statement now
originates from Mesa, AZ.
Eagle West Communications, Inc.
is a cable television
company also owned by
Corridor. Since they
already had an automated billing
system in place it made sense to
integrate our billing into theirs.
· Statements will be mailed near the end of the month and will be due upon receipt.
·
This
first statement is late because of
the tremendous effort and
coordination involved integrating
200+ customers in such a short
time. There will
undoubtedly be some errors on
the statements. We apologize for
any errors and ask that you call the
800 number listed on your statement
to resolve them.
·
For
the short term your payments will
still be accepted at the PO Box 321
address in Independence. However,
you should arrange to send your
payments to
the address provided on the
statement as soon as possible.
·
Unfortunately, ACH payments
will no longer be available. For
those interested, our new billing
system does accept credit card
payments. Call the 800 number
listed on your statement if
you wish to setup credit card
payments.
CUSTOMER SERVICE
·
Eagle
West Broadband
now
has a local Customer Care/Tech
Support team available to assist you
with any Internet access issues.
Customer Care can be
reached at (503) 363-0140.
·
As
always, my cell phone number (listed
below) will be available to you. If
you are not receiving the attention
you expect from Customer Care
please give me a call.
SERVICES
·
In my
new roll as President of Eagle
West Broadband I will
continue to be responsible for both
the “system development” and daily
“operations” of
our entire broadband network.
·
Eagle
West Broadband will soon be offering
enhanced services to our customers.
These services will include
Voice-over-IP, SPAM blocking,
FREE Hotspot service and more.
There
will undoubtedly be a “few bumps in
the road” as we restructure
ourselves but I truly believe the
end result will be in your best
interest. We ask for your
patience and would appreciate
any suggestions on how we might
improve our service.
Sincerely Yours
John
