High Speed Internet Access

High Speed (broadband) Internet Access is now available to many homes and small businesses in Dallas, Monmouth, Independence, Rickreall, Perrydale, Crowley, Oak Grove, Buena Vista, Millersburg, Dever, Suver, Airlie, Adair Village and parts of Albany,  Salem, West Salem and Keizer.  If you live in any of these areas give us a call.

Prior to our service launch most local internet users were forced to settle for basic Dial-up internet services.  Those looking for higher speeds were limited to Cable (in urban areas), DSL, ISDN or Satellite service.   Each access method offers some benefit but also has its limitations.

bullet

Dial-up service is the least expensive option but is slow (24-38kbps) by today's standards.  A second phone line adds additional costs.

bullet

Cable service offers a high speed solution but is available only in portions of the Salem urban area.

bullet

DSL service offers higher speeds (256-640kbps) but has limited availability.  Customers must live or work within a short distance of the local telco switch.

bullet

ISDN service is also available from the local telephone company.  It works over longer distances than DSL but is a complex, costly and lower speed solution.

bullet

Satellite service is available to almost everyone but latency (the time it takes data to make a round trip to and from the satellite) ranges from 600-800 milliseconds. Downlink speeds are acceptable but Uplink speeds are usually very slow.  The latency issue combined with high setup costs and monthly fees have limited satellite internet popularity.
